GURU PURNIMA
CELEBRATIONS
In Sanskrit ‘Gu’ means darkness (ignorance) and ‘ru’ means light (knowledge). Guru takes us from the darkness of ignorance to the light of knowledge. A Guru is an incarnation of God on earth who helps us in getting enlightened.
ज्ञान ना उपजे गुरु बिना, बिन गुरु भक्ति ना होय।
मन का संशय ना मिटे, बिन गुरु मुक्ति ना होय।।
Our knowledge cannot grow without a Guru, nor can we worship without a Guru, the doubts that we have in our mind cannot be eradicated,
nor can we be freed without the Guru.

SHIVGAAMI TRUST ORGANISES
MAHA SHIVRATRI FESTIVAL
The Shivgaami Trust organises the Maha Shivratri Festival every year. On this auspicious occasion, various spiritual programs are held, including Panchtattva Kriya for good health (involving meditation and yogic practices), Parthiv Shivlinga Nirmaan, Laghu Rudri, and a Yajna. These programs take place on the premises of Shivgaami Trust under the patronage of Avdhoot Swami Anand Ji Maharaj.
The celebrations begin with the invocation of divine blessings, followed by the Panchtattva Kriya, a practice that fosters connection with the five elements of nature — Earth, Water, Fire, Air, and Sky — as well as the five senses. It also symbolizes communion with the five aspects of Lord Shiva: Ishana, Tatpurusha, Aghora, Vamadeva, and Sadyojata. After this, devotees collectively create thousands of Parthiv (clay) Shivlings and worship them with devotion. A group of eleven priests recite the Laghu Rudri Path, while all the devotees perform Abhishekam on the Shivling with pure sandalwood water, saffron water, ashtgandh water, honey, curd, milk, and various fruit juices. The Abhishekam continues throughout the night, culminating in an early morning Yajna, during which sacred oblations are offered to seek the blessings of Lord Shiva. Devotees from far and wide gather to attend this grand spiritual event.

AWAKENING SOULS AT MAHA KUMBH 2025
Shivgaami Trust undertook a comprehensive initiative to serve and uplift the spiritual experience of devotees and pilgrims during the Maha Kumbh Mela 2025 in Prayagraj. The trust established a dedicated Mahakumbh Camp, which served as a spiritual hub for all visitors. It built a temple, a Yagya Shala for the guests to experience the ambience of Vedic kaal. The eco-friendly materials used in the construction of the lodgings not only provided comfort but also promoted environmental consciousness. A community kitchen operated throughout the Mela, offering free, wholesome sattvic meals to everyone. Bhandara was organised specifically for the underprivileged sections of society.
A grand Maha-Rudram event was also held, invoking divine energies through Vedic chants. Numerous spiritual programs and discourses were conducted, offering guests an immersive experience of devotion, service, and inner growth.
